Summer at Shell Cottage. By Lucy Diamond.
I've read a few of Lucy Diamond's books lately and she's fast becoming one of my favourite authors.
This book, Summer at Shell Cottage is one of my favourite reads this year.
It's a story about a family, spending their first summer holiday together at their other home in Devon, after the loss of their father, Olivia's husband Alec.
Olivia and Alec's daughter is there with her husband Vic, and their three children, and her brother Robert is there with his wife Harriet and her daughter Molly.
Freya, Robert and Molly all have secrets and along with a secret that Alec has left behind, they are all about to come out.
Will the family still be united at the end of the holiday?
This is exactly my favourite kind of story. I love a bit of a family drama. And Lucy Diamond writes each character so well, you really feel like you get to know each of them and the whole story was completely believable.
I especially loved the relationship between Olivia and Gloria! It's refreshing to have two older characters who are actually given a fun storyline rather than being kept in the sidelines.
I'm giving Summer at Shell Cottage 5 stars and it absolutely deserved each one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I borrowed this book from the library and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
